Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Voltron tempo list centered on Lyse Hext. The primary game plan uses Lyse's passive {1} cost reduction on noncreature spells to rapidly deploy artifacts, cheap cantrips, and potent Equipment. Once two noncreature spells are cast in a single turn, Lyse gains double strike, turning power-boosting Equipment like Wrecking Ball Arm, Blackblade Reforged, and Buster Sword into lethal commander damage bursts. Evasion pieces such as Spirit Mantle, Steel of the Godhead, and Brotherhood Regalia ensure that attacks connect reliably. The deck backs up this aggressive clock with premier Azorius interaction, featuring cheap counterspells, targeted exile removal, and timing denial via Teferi, Time Raveler and Conqueror's Flail. While vulnerable to mass edict effects and having to eliminate three opponents one by one, its mana efficiency and protective suite allow it to consistently pressure the table starting on Turn 5.
