Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black stax and attrition strategy commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana in the early turns, establishing continuous discard and sacrifice pieces, and casting Tergrid to steal opposing permanents en masse. Cards like Dark Deal, Pox, and Plaguecrafter convert symmetrical resource denial into overwhelming asymmetric board advantage by placing all discarded and sacrificed permanent cards onto your battlefield. Continuous tax and disruption pieces like Oppression, Bottomless Pit, and Painful Quandary keep opponents in top-deck mode with empty boards. If the commander is removed or heavily taxed, backup win conditions like Bloodletter of Aclazotz combined with Rush of Dread or Bolas's Citadel can swiftly eliminate opponents through burst life loss.
