Deck overview

This Abzan deck leverages the partner pairing of Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper to blend aggressive Voltron combat with resilient lifegain scaling. Yoshimaru lands on Turn 1 and rapidly accumulates +1/+1 counters whenever legendary permanents enter the battlefield. On Turn 4 or 5, Ikra Shidiqi enters to convert Yoshimaru's high toughness into massive life gain on combat damage. This massive life surplus fuels drain engines like Dina, Soul Steeper, powers alternate win conditions like Felidar Sovereign, and enables alpha strikes with equipment such as Blackblade Reforged and Brotherhood Regalia. The deck excels at generating board presence and rebuilding quickly thanks to Yoshimaru's minimal mana cost, though its reliance on combat damage and natural top-decks makes it vulnerable to well-timed sweepers.
