Commander: The Kingpin of Crime

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Orzhov deck helmed by The Kingpin of Crime leans into a toughness-matters combat strategy, turning high-toughness creatures into substantial damage sources. The commander grants creatures the ability to assign combat damage using toughness instead of power while extort provides incremental life gain. The deck packs numerous low-power, high-toughness creatures like Yoked Ox, Indomitable Ancients, and Unhallowed Phalanx, supported by equipment such as Bark of Doran and Captain America's Shield, alongside toughness-boosting enchantments like Fortifying Provisions and Castle. Victory arrives through overwhelming combat damage, often with True Conviction doubling the clocks. Recursion spells like Reanimate, Zombify, and Too Evil to Stay Dead offer resilience, while Rise of the Dark Realms can turn a full graveyard into an instant army. The deck is slow and linear, with limited interaction and card draw, making it a midrange value brawler that can take over games if left unchecked.
