Deck overview

This Dimir mill and copy deck is helmed by Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic, whose ability lets it repeatedly become a copy of creatures from the battlefield or graveyard each turn. The primary game plan mills opponents aggressively to enable copying high-value creatures like Gyruda, Doom of Depths, Consuming Aberration, and Noxious Gearhulk, while using reanimation and copy effects for value. Primary win conditions are massive mill via Mind Grind, Cut Your Losses, and Singularity Rupture, with secondary paths through combat damage from copied threats, infect with Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, and card advantage from Doctor Octopus, Master Planner and Ultimecia, Temporal Threat. The commander is essential as the core engine for repeated copying.
