Deck overview

This deck is a Bant midrange engine centered on Kellan, the Kid. It leverages mechanics that cast spells from outside the hand—such as prepare, plot, foretell, rebound, and top-of-library effects—to cheat permanents and lands onto the battlefield for free. In the early turns, the deck establishes mana acceleration using low-cost ramp spells and creatures before resolving Kellan on Turn 3. By Turn 4, casting prepared spells or cards from exile triggers Kellan, creating a significant tempo advantage. On Turn 5, the deck transitions into lethal threat generation by deploying top-end landfall and swarm payoffs like Avenger of Zendikar, Rampaging Baloths, and Apex Devastator. The board rapidly snowballs into an overwhelming combat force that eliminates opponents across two combat steps by Turn 7. Supporting protection spells, blink effects, and efficient countermagic defend the board against opposing removal while maintaining consistent card advantage.
