Deck overview

This Selesnya deck combines Hydra tribal, +1/+1 counters, and an aristocrats token engine commanded by Polukranos Reborn // Polukranos, Engine of Ruin. The strategy accelerates mana early to deploy and transform Polukranos into its Phyrexian form. Once transformed, the deck leverages a unique interaction with X-spell Hydras: casting them for zero or reanimating them with low-mana spells such as Helping Hand, Return to the Ranks, and Abiding Grace causes them to enter with zero toughness and immediately die. Each death triggers Polukranos to produce two 3/3 Phyrexian Hydra tokens (one with reach and one with lifelink). These tokens trigger card draw engines like Elemental Bond and feed sacrifice outlets like Fanatical Devotion and Evolutionary Leap. The deck converts this board presence into a decisive victory using combat finishers such as Overwhelming Stampede, Champion of Lambholt, and Defiler of Vigor to eliminate opponents across multiple combat steps.
