Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Gruul Voltron and forced-combat engine helmed by Tahngarth, First Mate. The primary plan accelerates into an early Tahngarth, attaches power-boosting equipment or auras, and attacks to become tapped. Once tapped, Tahngarth's ability triggers during every opponent's combat phase, allowing Tahngarth to jump into their attacks and strike opposing players. This multiplies combat output by four times per table rotation. Backed by secondary multi-combat threats like Slicer, Hired Muscle and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, as well as forced combat via goad spells, the deck turns opponents' creatures against each other while directing massive commander damage across the board. A robust suite of low-cost redirects, hexproof grants, and indestructible equipment protects the commander while closing out the game by Turn 6.
