Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a competitive combo build led by Chatterfang, Squirrel General. It leverages dense fast mana, premier low-cost tutors, and redundant creature engines to threaten extremely fast, decisive victories. The deck's primary route pairs Witherbloom Apprentice with Chain of Smog, self-targeting to trigger infinite Magecraft life drain on Turn 3. Alternatively, the deck can assemble infinite Treasure and life-drain loops using Chatterfang alongside Warren Soultrader and Marionette Apprentice, or execute instant-win creature piles through Protean Hulk. Dense acceleration from cards like Mox Diamond, Dark Ritual, and Mana Vault allows the deck to outpace the table and deploy powerful card engines such as Necropotence and The One Ring. To protect its combos, the deck relies on Veil of Summer, Allosaurus Shepherd, and Vexing Bauble, while disruptive threats like Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters punish opposing game plans. The result is a resilient, explosive combo deck capable of winning out of nowhere.
