Deck overview

This deck is a classic Azorius Group Hug and Pillowfort control deck helmed by Kwain, Itinerant Meddler. Kwain facilitates rapid card drawing across the entire table, generating goodwill and deflecting early aggression while quietly sculpting a full hand. The deck stabilizes the board through attack-taxing fortifications like Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Solitary Confinement, supplemented by sweeping board wipes like Farewell and Austere Command. Because opponents draw heavily, the deck utilizes Rule of Law and Phyrexian Censor to cap spell velocity. The primary route to victory is casting Approach of the Second Sun, quickly redrawing it via stacked draw triggers, and recasting it for the win. Alternatively, the deck can assemble a self-mill finish using Mind Over Matter with Kwain and Laboratory Maniac, or force mass mill using Folio of Fancies.
