Bilbo, Retired Burglar by Wesseljee

Format: Commander

Commander: Bilbo, Retired Burglar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Bilbo, Retired Burglar leads a midrange Izzet value deck built around Ring temptation, historic permanents, Treasures, and instant/sorcery payoffs. The primary plan is to attack with Bilbo as the Ring-bearer, create Treasures, then layer card draw and burn amplifiers such as Fiery Inscription and Erebor Flamesmith. Balin, Loremaster is the hidden finisher: with storied active, discarding a large hand deals lethal direct damage to each opponent. Secondary paths include unblockable commander damage with Bilbo's Ring/Whispersilk Cloak, cheating Cavern-Hoard Dragon with Last Light of Durin's Day, and making a big Smaug with There and Back Again. Gandalf the Grey can copy sorceries to extend the burst.
