Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Kambal, Profiteering Mayor, aiming to convert symmetrical token generation and aristocrat death triggers into asymmetric table drain. The deck utilizes unique token-gifting spells such as Alliance of Arms, Master of Ceremonies, Clackbridge Troll, and Tombstone Stairwell to force token creation across the board. Whenever opponents receive tokens, Kambal copies them once each turn, triggering his own drain ability alongside payoffs like Mirkwood Bats, Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Marionette Apprentice. Sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Warren Soultrader turn surplus tokens into mana and instant-speed death triggers, while cards like Massacre Wurm punish opponents for controlling the gifted tokens. The deck operates with strong functional redundancy across its drain and token packages, achieving reliable engine assembly by Turn 4 and threatening table-wide lethal drain on Turn 6.
