Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is led by Imotekh the Stormlord and focuses on artifact synergies, graveyard recursion, and aristocrat attrition. The strategy revolves around continuously cycling artifact cards out of the graveyard using unearth abilities, Tortured Existence, and recursive creatures like Scrap Trawler and Myr Retriever. Each time an artifact card leaves the graveyard, Imotekh creates two 2/2 Necron Warrior artifact creature tokens, rapidly building a wide board presence. The deck converts this token generation into overwhelming combat damage through menace and affliction anthems, or into direct life drain via Psychomancer and Bolas's Citadel. Additionally, the deck includes a two-card infinite combo with Ashnod's Altar and Nim Deathmantle, which loops the commander to create infinite tokens and mana. While resilient against single-target removal due to dense recursion, the deck relies heavily on its graveyard and lacks stack-based protection.
