Deck overview

This deck pairs Ganax, Astral Hunter with the Background Haunted One to build a lethal Rakdos Dragon tribal engine. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration and cost reducers to cast both commanders on curve. Once Ganax is in play, each Dragon entering creates Treasure tokens, accelerating subsequent high-cost Dragon threats. Whenever Ganax becomes tapped—whether attacking or tapping for mana through artifacts like Springleaf Drum and Relic of Legends—Haunted One grants all Dragons +2/+0 and undying. This provides aggressive combat scaling while making the board resilient against destroy-based sweepers and spot removal. The deck capitalizes on asymmetric wipes like Crux of Fate and Breath Weapon to clear opposing blockers while leaving its own Dragons intact. Damage multipliers like Terror of the Peaks, Scourge of Valkas, and Utvara Hellkite quickly close out the game through direct burn and overwhelming aerial combat.
