Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Sultai big-mana engine built around Zaxara, the Exemplary. Its strategy centers on casting scaling X-spells that trigger Zaxara's ability to create massive Hydra tokens, which are rapidly multiplied by counter-doubling effects. Robust early ramp (Sol Ring, Chrome Mox, Delighted Halfling, Birds of Paradise) ensures Zaxara enters play on Turn 3. By Turn 4, the deck assembles its core engine, leveraging mana multipliers like Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Elementalist's Palette, and Gaea's Cradle to cast substantial threats. Critical onset arrives on Turn 5 with explosive enablers such as Kalonian Hydra, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, or Herald of Secret Streams, forcing opponents to answer an overwhelming board within one turn cycle. If unanswered, the deck finishes on Turn 6 via unblockable trample combat or decisive finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Finale of Devastation. While the deck features versatile spot removal and high resilience, its lack of stack countermagic leaves it vulnerable to opposing combo wins and exile sweepers.
