Mordor Madness by user9567916

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a single-face-commander army deck built around Sauron, the Dark Lord: the primary plan is to grow one large Orc Army using amass spells and attack triggers, then use Sauron's Ring-temptation ability to discard a small hand and draw four, chaining more amass and interaction. Secondary paths include a Wraith subtheme with Nazgul and the Smaug burst from There and Back Again, converted into drain damage through Mirkwood Bats. Adventure cards such as My Precious // Allure of Power and Gollum, Silent Slinker // Meager Meal function as flexible role players, not commander faces. The deck also functions without Sauron, but much more slowly; there is no true hidden commander, though Mauhur acts as a force multiplier for the amass plan.
