Deck overview

This is an Abzan toughness-matters midrange deck helmed by Doran, Besieged by Time. The plan is to deploy high-toughness creatures at a discount, layer "damage equals toughness" enablers, and overwhelm the table through combat. Doran reduces the cost of toughness-greater-than-power creatures and pumps attackers and blockers by the P/T gap, turning walls and treefolk into real threats. Redundant enablers in the 99-Doran, the Siege Tower, Assault Formation, Huatli, the Sun's Heart, Felothar the Steadfast, Ancient Lumberknot, Bedrock Tortoise, and Baldin, Century Herdmaster-ensure the toughness-damage plan does not live solely in the command zone. Secondary angles include life-gain payoffs (Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper, Treebeard, Gracious Host, Rhox Faithmender, Indulging Patrician), ETB drain via Jaws of Defeat, and Betor, Kin to All's end-step life halving once total toughness hits 40. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through structured combat and incremental drain.
