Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an oppressive discard and stax strategy commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The deck accelerates mana in the opening turns to deploy Tergrid alongside symmetric sacrifice and discard spells such as Dark Deal, Pox, and Plaguecrafter. Tergrid turns symmetric resource loss into massive asymmetric advantage by stealing every discarded permanent and sacrificed nontoken card directly onto your battlefield. Once an onset spell strips opposing hands and boards, the table is locked in top-deck mode while your stolen board rapidly closes out the game through combat and drain effects. Backup win conditions include compact infinite combos like Bloodchief Ascension paired with Mindcrank and the Exquisite Blood plus Sanguine Bond loop, ensuring lethality even if Tergrid is contained.
