Deck overview

This Dimir Edict Control deck is commanded by Vren, the Relentless, turning symmetric sacrifice and removal spells into overwhelming board advantage. Vren replaces opposing creature deaths with exile, completely shutting down opposing graveyard loops, aristocrats, and on-death triggers while creating scalable Rat tokens at every end step. The deck runs a dense package of over sixteen edict creatures and spells, such as Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter, and Liliana's Triumph, ensuring that every turn cycle strips opponents of their best threats while growing a formidable army. Mana rocks like Arcane Signet and Dimir Signet establish a stable early mana base, leading into a turn 4 commander deployment and a turn 5 engine onset. While the deck dominates creature-centric matchups through continuous attrition and massive combat damage from Relentless Rat tokens, its reliance on multiple attack steps and limited instant-speed stack interaction leaves it exposed to mass board sweepers and noncreature combo strategies.
