Deck overview

This deck is a Bant toughness-matters aggressive deck helmed by Arcades, the Strategist. The game plan revolves around deploying inexpensive, high-toughness defender creatures during the early turns to establish an impenetrable defensive line. Once Arcades enters the battlefield, these defenders convert their massive toughness into offensive combat power while cantripping on entry to draw through the library rapidly. The deck leverages asymmetric sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Wave of Reckoning to clear opposing boards while leaving 0-power defenders untouched. Evasion enablers such as Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa allow massive wall swings to bypass blockers, closing out the game across two to three combat steps.
