Deck overview

This deck leverages The Notary Hobbits in the command zone as an explosive mana engine. By entering with two non-legendary copies, the commander creates three Halflings that tap together for 9 colorless mana on the turn after deployment. Dense 1-2 CMC acceleration consistently powers out the Hobbits on Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck taps its Halflings alongside natural lands to access 13 or more mana, deploying catastrophic colorless payoffs such as Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Void Winnower, or Portal to Phyrexia. On-cast triggers ensure value even through countermagic, while Annihilator triggers, asymmetric board wipes like All Is Dust, and Finale of Devastation quickly close out the game over two combat steps. While vulnerable to early creature sweepers before the Hobbits untap, the deck possesses strong card draw and backup mana engines to rebuild rapidly.
