Commander: Phenax, God of Deception

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Phenax, God of Deception is the mill engine: every high-toughness creature becomes a tap-to-mill source. The primary plan is to deploy walls and sea creatures, then use Phenax to mill one player out while acceleration pieces such as Bruvac, The Water Crystal, and Altar of the Brood magnify each trigger. Secondary plans combine Bruvac with half-library spells, pair Duskmantle Guildmage with Mindcrank for an infinite damage/mill loop, or loop Dramatic Reversal with Isochron Scepter to untap all tappers. Bruvac is effectively the hidden commander and the strongest amplifier. Phenax is indestructible but conditionally a creature, so the deck needs devotion or alternate tappers to keep the mill plan moving.
