Deck overview

This Grixis deck is a Nicol Bolas tribal control deck that wins by grinding opponents out of resources and closing with planeswalker ultimates or large reanimated threats. The primary plan uses discard, sacrifice, and removal from Bolas planeswalkers, Archon of Cruelty, and The Eldest Reborn to strip hands and boards while drawing cards. Secondary paths reanimate big creatures with Animate Dead, Necromancy, and The Eldest Reborn, or steal permanents with Bolas theft abilities and Slave of Bolas. Nicol Bolas, the Ravager provides early discard and becomes Nicol Bolas, the Arisen for repeatable draw and reanimation; the deck is built to transform and use the planeswalker face. Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God acts as a hidden commander, copying every planeswalker ability.
