Bendalicious by Mist

Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, the First Metalbender

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Toph, the First Metalbender leads a Naya lands-matter deck built on the earthbend mechanic: ramp to a critical mass of lands, animate them as 0/0 creatures with +1/+1 counters, and scale the board exponentially through Kalonian Hydra and Canopy Gargantuan. Toph's end-step earthbend grows one land per turn, while her static making nontoken artifacts into lands turns Sol Ring and the Signets into accidental landfall triggers for Avenger of Zendikar and Scute Swarm. The primary kill is a chained-combat turn: Bumi, Unleashed untaps all lands and creates extra combat phases on combat damage, and double strike from Raphael, the Nightwatcher, Boros Charm, or Slayers' Stronghold lets Bumi trigger twice per combat - chaining combat phases in which untapped land creatures swing for the table. Backup lines are the Avenger/Scute plant swarm, Raphael, the Muscle with damage-doubling, and drain pings from Zhur-Taa Druid and Sabotender. It is a midrange value deck with one explosive, telegraphed lethal turn.
