Deck overview

This is a Grixis amass deck helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord, built around growing a single Army token through a dense web of amass triggers and then finishing with a massive double-strike swing. Sauron doubles as the deck's card-advantage engine - whenever an Army connects, the Ring tempts you, letting you discard your hand and draw four, while his ward ability and amass-on-opponent-spells trigger keep the pressure on. The deck is a grindy midrange combat strategy: it deploys repeatable amass engines like Dreadhorde Invasion and March from the Black Gate, protects the Army with hexproof/menace/deathtouch-granting support creatures, and closes games with Assault on Osgiliath or a huge Invade the City/Summons of Saruman. A robust recursion package (Reanimate, The Soul Stone, Alesha, Who Laughs at Fate) and a single infinite-mana line (Basalt Monolith + Forsaken Monument) round out the plan. It wins through combat inevitability rather than speed.
