Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs a wide token strategy with instant and sorcery cost reduction. In the early game, cheap mana dorks and token producers like Bitterblossom, Sedgemoor Witch, and Weaponcraft Enthusiast flood the battlefield. This creature swarm enables an early cast of Witherbloom, the Balancer, whose affinity ability heavily discounts its own cost and grants affinity to all subsequent instants and sorceries. With Witherbloom active, expensive spells like Shamanic Revelation and Torment of Hailfire become cheap to cast. The deck's primary victory line leverages Sprout Swarm: with affinity reducing the buyback cost to a single green mana, each newly created Saproling can tap via convoke to pay for the next cast, creating an infinite token army. The deck closes games with wide combat damage, drain triggers from Mirkwood Bats, or Craterhoof Behemoth.
