Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul Stompy deck commanded by Hugs, Grisly Guardian. Its primary game plan is to accelerate its mana production through early dorks and artifacts like Fyndhorn Elves and Arcane Signet, enabling an early cast of Hugs on Turn 4 for X=2. Hugs replenishes resources with impulse card draw and provides an extra land drop each turn, allowing the deck to rapidly deploy large, trampling beaters like Rhino, Barreling Brute, Thorn Elemental, and Herd Baloth. The deck applies heavy combat pressure from Turn 5 onward, supported by single-target burn and fight removal to clear blockers. Because the deck lacks infinite combos or mass overrun effects, it wins by steadily chipping down all three opponents over multiple combat rotations, closing the game around Turn 9.
