Deck overview

This Esper artifact/Clue deck, helmed by Inquisitor Greyfax, is a token-and-combo midrange build that converts cheap artifacts and investigate triggers into card advantage, mana, and a board that can snap into a combo lock. Greyfax provides a reusable tap-down that also investigates, while her static gives the rest of the team +1/+0 and vigilance - a genuine force multiplier on the Thopter/Servo/Clue swarm. The engine layer is deep: Sai, Master Thopterist, Forensic Gadgeteer, Akal Pakal, First Among Equals, Academy Manufactor, and Marneus Calgar turn every artifact cast and every Clue into more tokens and more cards. Wins come primarily from chained Time Sieve extra turns fueled by sacrificing five artifacts per cycle, with Marionette Master and Marionette Apprentice draining life while Urza, Lord High Artificer, Tivit, Seller of Secrets, and Shimmer Dragon close in combat. Urza is effectively the hidden commander, tapping the artifact army for blue mana; Greyfax is a value piece rather than a linchpin.
