Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul Voltron strategy centered on Wolverine, Best There Is. Wolverine naturally doubles all damage he deals, meaning a modest power boost turns him into a one-shot lethal threat. The deck ramps on turn 1 or 2, deploys Wolverine on turn 2 or 3, and equips him with evasion and power doublers like Berserk, Unleash Fury, and Temur Battle Rage to eliminate opponents via commander damage starting on turn 4. To overcome the traditional single-target weakness of Voltron, the deck utilizes Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Chandra's Ignition. Because Wolverine is the damage source for Kediss and Chandra's Ignition, his static ability doubles the splash damage again, often wiping the entire table in a single attack. A dense package of fourteen cheap protection spells shields Wolverine from removal, while bite spells leverage his doubled damage to clear opposing blockers and commanders.
