Deck overview

This Abzan midrange deck utilizes Betor, Ancestor's Voice to convert life fluctuations into board presence. The deck uses early lifegain enablers like Soul Warden alongside self-damaging mana fixers and draw spells such as Talisman of Resilience and Sign in Blood. Once Betor enters the battlefield, every point of life gained places +1/+1 counters on other creatures, while every point of life lost reanimates cheap creatures from the graveyard at the end step. The deck compounds this advantage with flying payoffs like Lyra, Archangel of Dawn, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, and Ob Nixilis, the Ascended, creating an overwhelming aerial army. Efficient targeted removal like Swords to Plowshares and Mortality Spear disrupts opponents while Flawless Maneuver and Heroic Intervention protect the board from sweepers, steadily closing out the game through lethal evasive combat.
