Shell's Kitchen - Ragost, Deft Gastronaut by Based Deck Department by SimplyHosier

Format: Commander

Commander: Ragost, Deft Gastronaut

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Boros artifacts-matter lifegain deck helmed by Ragost, Deft Gastronaut. The primary game plan is to generate a high volume of artifact tokens-especially Food and Treasure-then use Ragost, Deft Gastronaut's activated ability to sacrifice a Food and deal 3 damage to each opponent. Life gain from lifelink sources and Food sacrifice triggers the commander's untap ability, enabling repeated activations. The deck also leans on combat damage via lifelink creatures and value engines like Academy Manufactor and Nuka-Cola Vending Machine to multiply artifact tokens. Secondary win conditions include incremental damage from Descent into Avernus and Weapons Manufacturing's Munitions tokens. The strategy is grindy and incremental, lacking infinite combos, and relies on a dense suite of protection spells to keep the commander and key artifacts on the battlefield.
