Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov reanimator and attrition engine led by Squall, SeeD Mercenary. The strategy focuses on attacking alone with Squall to grant him double strike, triggering his combat damage ability twice in a single combat step. This lets you reanimate up to two permanents with mana value 3 or less per turn directly to the battlefield. The list is filled with low-cost self-sacrificing creatures, discard engines, and edict effects like Plaguecrafter, Virus Beetle, and Hopeless Nightmare. By repeatedly sacrificing and recurring these pieces, the deck systematically strips opponents of resources while advancing its own board. Squall provides closing power via commander damage, especially when equipped with Blackblade Reforged or made unblockable via Access Tunnel or Key to the City. The deck struggles against fast combo decks, heavy graveyard hate, and instant-speed exile removal.
