Format: Commander

Commander: Liliana, Heretical Healer // Liliana, Defiant Necromancer

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black Liliana tribal deck grinds value through discard, Zombie tokens, and graveyard recursion to win with a massive reanimation. Liliana, Heretical Healer starts as a 2/3 lifelink that flips when another nontoken creature dies, making a 2/2 Zombie; the deck is built to flip her quickly and use the back face, Liliana, Defiant Necromancer, whose +2 forces discard, -X reanimates any nonlegendary creature with mana value X, and -8 emblem reanimates every creature that dies. Secondary paths swarm with Zombies via Liliana's Mastery and Oath of Liliana, drain with Professor Onyx and Liliana's Caress, or grind planeswalker ultimates with The Chain Veil. Liliana, Dreadhorde General acts as a hidden commander, drawing cards and making Zombies.
