Grub 8/8/2026

Format: Commander

Commander: Grub, Storied Matriarch // Grub, Notorious Auntie

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Rakdos Goblin tribal deck is helmed by Grub, Storied Matriarch / Grub, Notorious Auntie, a transform commander that provides flexible value on both sides. The front side recurs a Goblin from the graveyard each turn, while the back side copies a blighted creature during combat. The core plan is to flood the board with cheap Goblin creatures and tokens, leverage anthem effects like Coat of Arms and Dropkick Bomber to turn the swarm lethal, and use the commander's recursion to grind through removal. The "blight" subtheme (putting -1/-1 counters on your own creatures) triggers payoffs such as Lasting Tarfire and Boggart Mischief. The deck has no infinite combos; it wins through overwhelming combat damage backed by light burn and token generation.
