Format: Commander

Commander: Mannichi, the Fevered Dream

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Mannichi, the Fevered Dream leads a mono-red voltron deck that turns massive toughness into lethal power. The commander's activated ability swaps power and toughness at instant speed, letting a 1/16 Mannichi become a 16/1 attacker. The deck stacks +0/+X equipment (Slagwurm Armor, Captain America's Shield) and finishes with double strike from Temur Battle Rage or Lizard Blades, or with a mass damage spell like Chandra's Ignition. Secondary plans include goading with Baeloth Barrityl and Puppet Master to generate treasure, and using Ogre Menial with infect to apply poison. Inversion Behemoth is the only backup switcher, but its colorless cost is awkward in mono-red. The deck is heavily dependent on Mannichi; without its switch, few creatures can attack for meaningful damage.
