Commander: Varolz, the Scar-Striped

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Varolz, the Scar-Striped with high-power, low-cost graveyard fodder and fast creature combo lines. The primary strategy seeks to assemble game-winning loops, most notably sacrificing Protean Hulk to fetch Melira, Sylvok Outcast, Lesser Masticore, Carrion Feeder, and Disciple of the Vault for infinite direct damage. Alternatively, the deck can assemble Gravecrawler and Warren Soultrader loops or leverage Varolz to scavenge undercosted beaters like Deaths Shadow and Force of Savagery for massive bursts of power. Backed by low mana value tutors, efficient ramp, and compact reanimation spells, the deck reliably pivots between explosive combo finishes and lethal burst attacks.
