Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Kraven the Hunter, functioning as a hybrid control and Voltron engine. The deck converts opponent creature deaths into card advantage and power counters. By running over twenty targeted removal spells, fight effects, and edicts, the deck consistently controls opposing boards while growing Kraven into a formidable trample threat. The deck dedicates significant deck space to low-cost protection spells such as Royal Treatment, Heroic Intervention, and Tyvar's Stand to shield Kraven from interaction. While exceptionally resilient against creature-based strategies, the deck lacks stack interaction, explosive fast mana, and combo finishes. It closes games through sequential combat eliminations, typically presenting a critical lethal commander threat on Turn 6 and eliminating all opponents by Turn 9.
