Deck overview

This Mono-Blue control deck is built around Y'shtola Rhul, who doubles the end-step phase and repeatedly flickers creatures with powerful enter-the-battlefield abilities. Early turns focus on mana rocks and cantrips to develop land drops and board presence. By Turn 5, Y'shtola Rhul deploys to exploit value creatures like Mulldrifter, Aether Channeler, and Solemn Simulacrum, generating substantial card advantage and tempo. The deck's primary win path relies on high-impact late-game threats, notably Agent of Treachery, which steals multiple permanents per turn rotation under the doubled end steps. Additional win conditions include kicked copies of Rite of Replication, life drain through Psychosis Crawler, and sheer aerial beatdown with copied threats. Defensively, the list relies on efficient blue spot removal, selective counterspells, and instant-speed flicker spells that double as targeted protection against opposing interaction.
