Format: Commander

Commander: Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin is the deck's engine and payoff. The plan is to land the 4/3 early with rituals and fast mana, then resolve anything that deals exactly 1 damage to each opponent-Kessig Flamebreather, Coruscation Mage, Scrawling Crawler, Unstable Amulet, or the Mage Siege token-so every ping grows Ob and exiles the top card. Those exiled cards can be played to chain more 1-damage triggers, eventually assembling Agatha's Soul Cauldron plus Walking Ballista for infinite pings, or Underworld Breach plus Lion's Eye Diamond and Wheel of Fortune to mill everyone with Grinding Station. The deck is a fast, tutor-heavy storm/sacrifice hybrid that can also pivot to Bolas's Citadel.
