Deck overview

This is a Selesnya tokens-and-lifegain deck built around Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, using her combination of creature-enter life gain and repeatable populate to turn every Rhys the Redeemed activation, Growing Ranks upkeep, and Song of the Worldsoul cast into a growing army. The deck wins through three main channels: a life-total-based Aetherflux Reservoir finish, an on-board Halo Fountain win once the token count reaches fifteen, or an explosive Finale of Devastation for X=10-plus that pumps the entire board and gives haste. The average mana value of 3.17 without lands and a solid 35-land, low-curve ramp package allow Trostani to come down around turn 3-4. She is the best populate engine in the command zone, but not the only one: the 99 carries enough redundancy in Rhys the Redeemed, Growing Ranks, Song of the Worldsoul, and Sundering Growth that the plan survives even if she is answered.
