Deck overview

This Esper deck leverages Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain to execute an aggressive, compounding Voltron strategy. The game plan focuses on casting early mana ramp and cost reducers to deploy Arna ahead of curve on Turn 4, already equipped with stat-boosting or keyword-granting permanents like Hero's Blade, Thran Power Suit, or Swiftfoot Boots. When Arna attacks on Turn 5, her ability doubles any counters on her and creates token copies of every attached nontoken permanent. This exponential scaling rapidly inflates Arna's power and toughness while multiplying protective ward effects, lifelink, and evasion. The deck finishes games by eliminating opponents one by one with lethal commander damage by Turn 8. While the deck boasts strong built-in protection through ward and dedicated defensive equipment, its reliance on natural draws and vulnerability to board wipes require careful sequencing and resource management.
