Deck overview

This mono-black deck focuses on hand disruption, incremental drain, and midrange creature attrition. Led by Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance, the strategy revolves around casting symmetrical discard spells like Burglar Rat, Rank Rat, and Syphon Mind to systematically strip opponents of resources while dealing repeatable chip damage. Card advantage engines like Black Market Connections and Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor maintain hand size as opponents run out of cards. The removal package is efficient and flexible, featuring premier answers like Toxic Deluge, Snuff Out, and Withering Torment to control opposing boards. Without infinite combos, the deck finishes games across multiple turn cycles through combat damage from resilient threats like Gwenom, Remorseless and Kalakscion, Hunger Tyrant, culminating in a big mana drain from Exsanguinate. While resilient in long grindy matches, the deck is vulnerable to topdecked board wipes, fast spell-based combo decks, and aggressive graveyard strategies.
