Deck overview

This Jeskai deck is led by Gandalf, Party Guest, commanding an army of legendary Wizards and high-impact spells. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, synergistic legendary Wizards on early turns to scale Gandalf's combat trigger, enabling free casts of powerful instants and sorceries each turn. By cheating the costs of nonlegendary cloning effects like Irenicus's Vile Duplication and Quantum Misalignment, the deck compounds its Gandalf triggers exponentially. Board control is maintained through one-sided wipes such as Urza's Ruinous Blast and Raise the Palisade, which clear opposing battlefields while leaving your legendary Wizard base untouched. Card advantage engines like Whirlwind of Thought, Traverse Eternity, and Azami, Lady of Scrolls keep hand sizes full, while token generators like Kykar, Wind's Fury and Shark Typhoon convert spellcasts into an evasive aerial army. Direct burn from Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf, Goblins' Bane supplements combat damage to close out games efficiently.
