Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange and reanimator strategy piloted by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating into Sauron on Turn 5, generating a growing Orc Army as opponents cast spells, and using combat damage triggers to cycle through the library. By discarding high-cost legendary threats and drawing four fresh cards each turn, the deck rapidly fills the graveyard and deploys powerful reanimation targets including Sheoldred, Whispering One, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, and Scourge of the Throne. Opponents face steady attrition from creature edicts and combat pressure while struggling to target Sauron through his punishing ward ability. The deck finishes games through sustained, evasive combat damage and extra combat steps, closing out the table around Turn 8.
