Deck overview

This Bant midrange deck is commanded by Kellan, the Kid, turning exile-casting mechanics—such as Adventure, Foretell, Plot, Suspend, and Cascade—into powerful mana velocity. By casting spells from exile, Kellan cheats lands and permanent spells directly from hand onto the battlefield without paying their mana costs. Dense 1–2 mana ramp enables Kellan to hit the battlefield on Turn 3 and immediately begin cheating permanents on Turn 4. The deck transitions into the late game by resolving massive snowball threats like Apex Devastator, Railway Brawler, and Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty, which flood the board with trample and flying power. A deep interaction package featuring premium countermagic and flexible spot removal keeps opposing strategies in check, while backup engines like Chulane, Teller of Tales ensure the deck remains resilient even if the commander is removed.
