Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Ghoulcaller Gisa to convert tall creatures into wide armies of 2/2 Zombie tokens. Supported by 39 lands and a solid suite of mana rocks, the deck curves naturally into mid-game board presence. It relies on functional redundancy among tribal lords like Undead Warchief, Death Baron, and Cemetery Reaper to grant evasion and pump power. Aristocrat staples including Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel bypass enemy blockers with heavy life drain. While the deck possesses strong creature removal and recurring card draw via Cryptbreaker and Undead Augur, it lacks stack interaction, artifact removal, and protective equipment. Consequently, Gisa is vulnerable to removal during her summoning sickness window, and the deck relies on resilient graveyard recursion from Gravecrawler and Lord of the Undead to rebuild and close games through repeated combat steps.
