Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Zombie Aristocrats and Planeswalker Midrange list piloted by Liliana, Heretical Healer. Its strategy focuses on deploying resilient Zombie creatures, transforming the commander early, and establishing an asymmetric attrition engine using sacrifice outlets, continuous discard, and Grave Pact effects. By combining typal synergies with powerful card-advantage engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Bolas's Citadel, the deck generates substantial card flow and board presence. It pressures the table through steady combat damage and life-drain effects, culminating in decisive life swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and mass reanimation spells like Command the Dreadhorde or Zombie Apocalypse. While the deck is highly resilient against creature-based combat and traditional destruction, it has limited stack interaction and lacks direct removal for opposing noncreature permanents.
