Deck overview

This mono-blue deck exploits the changeling nature of Mistform Ultimus to bridge multiple tribal synergies, focusing primarily on Wizards with secondary Pirate payoffs. The early turns focus on establishing mana through artifacts and cost-reducers such as Sapphire Medallion and Stonybrook Banneret, followed by low-curve utility creatures. On Turn 5, the deck transitions into its card-flow engine by resolving Azami, Lady of Scrolls, leveraging tap abilities to draw multiple cards per turn cycle. From this foundation, the deck attempts to close the game on Turn 6 and beyond using Docent of Perfection to swarm the board with flying tokens, backed by disruptive elements like Patron Wizard and Galecaster Colossus. Because it wins through fair combat damage without infinite combos, it requires multiple turn rotations to eliminate opponents. The deck relies heavily on counterspells and bounce effects to protect its board and clear opposing blockers while whittling down enemy life totals.
