Deck overview

This deck is a Bant +1/+1 counters midrange deck led by Tidus, Yuna's Guardian. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost, counter-synergistic creatures and ramping into Tidus on Turn 4. Once assembled, combat connections trigger Tidus's Cheer ability, drawing cards and proliferating counters each turn. The mid-game leverages powerful scaling engines like Branching Evolution, Forgotten Ancient, and Maester Seymour to grow the board exponentially. Evasion and combat enhancements from Duskshell Crawler, Rikku, Resourceful Guardian, and Chocobo Knights turn these counters into lethal threats, while one-sided board wipes like Damning Verdict clear path for lethal swings. The deck protects its board using shield counters, Inspiring Call, and counter-saving enchantments such as Resourceful Defense. It steadily eliminates opponents across consecutive combat steps by Turn 8.
