Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie tribal and aristocrats build helmed by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary strategy focuses on curving out resilient Zombie creatures, utilizing Wilhelt's ability to turn non-decayed casualties into decayed tokens, and drawing extra cards during the end step. The deck compounds advantage through anthems such as Death Baron, Cemetery Reaper, and Lord of the Accursed, while converting sacrifice triggers into board control via edicts like Butcher of Malakir and life drain via Diregraf Captain. Without dedicated fast mana or tutors, the list executes on an honest mid-game curve, reaching an operational engine by Turn 4 and threatening lethal combat swings around Turn 7. Its main strengths lie in grindy card advantage and graveyard recursion from spells like Zombie Apocalypse. However, the deck is constrained by a lack of stack interaction, reliance on combat, and vulnerability to mass exile sweepers.
